Everything! When a man takes his woman out to dinner and dancing, you know he’s gotta love her. When a woman spends half a day deciding what she will wear or making sure she looks just right to catch the eye of her man, she’s gotta love him. Christway Church looks forward to all our “family get together”, but none more so than the annual Valentine’s Dance. Most of the time everyone is content to wear blues jeans and a t-shirt with flip flops or tennis shoes. But I notice that about a week or two before the dance, there is excitement and anticipation in the air as the dance draws near. It’s kind of like your senior prom, if you can remember back then. As I weaved through the couples, one thing remained the same with each one. Fulfillment. Each woman glowed with radiance in the company of their man while each man swelled with pride knowing the beautiful woman he escorted was created for him. As they danced, each couple became one fluid movement after another motivated by the love they shared for one another. Whoever said that church had to be boring or that you could no longer dance. At Christway Church. we like to have fun!

Jennifer and Joey Hester did an outstanding job putting this together as did everyone involved.
It didn’t turn out “ghetto” afterall. I had the chicken, but others had brisket. Either one was enough to make me want to come next year! And what’s a dance without pictures? We had those too only they were complimentary. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy the food, fun and friends. There were even door prizes awarded. Thanks for the M & Ms. My kids and I will enjoy them. So, what’s love got to do with it? As you can see, everything. Without love, this dance and it’s success would not have been possible. If you missed out, all I can say is don’t next year. I know I won’t.

WARNING: CONTENT MAY OFFEND OVERTLY RELIGIOUS AT HEART!
If you weren.t there on Saturday the 23rd, you missed out on a revolutionary explosion of God.s presence designed to reach .Generation X.. Christway Church in DeRidder, LA kicked off what promises to be the revival of revivals in Louisiana at the Leesville Campus last night February 23rd. The CWC Latenight Band rocked! They were jammin. to Jesus with music that sparked the interests of those in search of the normal Saturday Night traditions of getting drunk, getting tattoos or getting visual sex. Soon, the norm will be getting drunk in the Holy Ghost or overdosing on Jesus! We are located in the middle of a bar, strip club and a tattoo parlor; we ain.t scared! Jesus loves us all. He came to those that were sick, not those who were
well!
Brother Vic brought the Word like I have never seen him do before. That brother was on fire last night. There was hot dogs and nachos for the physically hungry and Word for the spiritually hungry. There was soda and water for the physically thirsty and the Living Water for those spiritually thirsty. Guaranteed you will not leave empty. We set up state of the art technology for video and sound. There was lights, drums (yes, drums) ax grinding and lots of yelling. Definitely not for the Religious or faint of heart. Can Jesus use this to reach a dying world? Come check us out and see for yourself. Like I said, you won.t leave empty. Last night was the first of many to come C.A.U. (Church As Unusual) services with Christway Church! Need a break from your buddy Ralph? No more skin to color? Bored with the .Traditional Church.? CWC Latenight is the place for you on
Saturday nights. We.d love to see you there!

A man in Topeka, Kansas decided to write a book about Churches around the country. He started by flying to San Francisco and started working east from there. Going to a very large church, he began taking photographs and making notes. He spotted a golden telephone on the vestibule wall and was intrigued with a sign, which read “Calls: $10,000 a minute.” Seeking out the pastor he asked about the phone and the sign. The pastor answered that this golden phone is, in fact, a direct line to heaven and if he pays the price he can talk directly to God.
The man thanked the pastor and continued on his way. As he continued to visit churches in Seattle, Dallas, St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee, and around the United States, he found more phones, with the same sign, and the same answer from each pastor. Finally, he arrived in Louisiana. Upon entering a church in DeRidder he saw the usual golden telephone, but THIS time, the sign read “Calls 35 cents.” Fascinated, he asked to talk to the pastor, and as luck would have it, Pastor Smith was available. “Pastor Smith, I have been in cities all across the country and in each church I have found this golden telephone and have been told it is a direct line to Heaven and that I could talk to God, but in the other churches the cost was $10,000 a minute. Your sign reads only 35 cents a call. Why? The pastor, smiling benignly, replied:
“Son, you’re in Louisiana now, home of the LSU Tigers, Community Coffee and the best cooking this side of heaven. You’re IN God’s Country. It’s a local call.”

When all is wrong and nothing right
Can’t I come to you and escape the night?
Call to you and fill my world with light
To embrace me and make it all more bright
When times are tough and nothing is clear
Let me escape to your heart to take away this fear
Hold me tight and wipe away my tears
Tell me you love me and be sincere
When it seems everyone’s against me and I want to hide
I come running to you to take away my pride
Escape to your heart and have your love and my problems collide
Have all these problems that rose to fall back like the tide
At times when I get scared and feel alone
I fall to your feet, your blood to atone
To follow your ways and not my own
Escape to your heart and be not alone
Them times I feel rejected and feel left for dead
I’ll come back to you so my spirit gets fed
Problems and worries build up in my head
Lord please take away all this dread
Escape from this world to be set apart
Escape from myself and straight to your heart.

Ecclesiastes 3:1- To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. It is clear that this verse lets us know that there is a time and a season for everything. God calls us to certain areas and certain duties only for a season. One can’t exactly know how long the season is, just that it’s a season, however when God says it’s time, we know the season has come to an end. However God will not close one door without opening another and our starting point will never be our finishing point. On Jan. 23rd, 2006 God called me to Nicaragua, a great many of things where accomplished during my stay. Christway church of DeRidder, Louisiana helped to establish a feeding center which now feeds a great multitude of people, two ministries joined forces in an attempt to reach more people, villages were fed, an orphanage was opened, people were reached, God was shared, classes of English were taught, children were fed and a closer walk with Christ was achieved. As the year came closer to an end, Honduras was introduced to me and the word “Go” was placed in my heart. All the arrangements have been made, now on Feb. 1st I will be flying into San Pedro Sula, Honduras ! It is new territory for me and a new mission will take place, the light of Christ will shine as San Pedro Sula is reached !!
Please keep me in your prayers as this journey takes place, I have Faith that God will be doing some new and exciting things. For all those who have supported me and continue to do so, I would like to say thanks. Your seed is being sown, fruit is being produced, and your reward is building in heaven and will be returned to you a hundred fold.
p.s. The address that I sent out a while back is no longer valid, as soon as I find out my address in Honduras, I will let everyone know. Also please agree with me in prayer that God will provide me the funds to get a new laptop, my old one was destroyed in a flood and this is a very important tool for me. Thank you and God Bless !
