Praise & Worship Ministry
Pat Mitchell May 13th, 2007
Experience the passion! At Christway, this is the excitement we pray each individual encounters every service. Our worship teams combine a mix of contemporary and traditional music to create an atmosphere of love and gratitude to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for all He has done for us. Everyone is free to praise and worship Him as uniquely as He has created us. Clapping and lifting our hands, shouting and kneeling are some of the ways we choose to express our love for Jesus during our times of praise and worship. As Pastor Kennis appropriately says, “Sometimes the normal expressions just don’t work.”
Our prayer is that everyone comes to the knowledge and understanding that our passion for worship comes as a direct result of a daily encounter with our Lord, as we learn that praise and worship are not just a few minutes that we incorporate into each church service, but rather a lifestyle of service and obedience to Him. That is when we can really experience true passion in our corporate time of worship. Our minds must be renewed to an understanding that true worship is a relationship with our Heavenly Father that grows as we spend time with Him. When a person has a true heart of worship, location means nothing. Anywhere we are; at home, on the job, or in a church setting, we can have assurance that our Father is in us and with us, and He desires our fellowship.
As the body of Christ grows in this knowledge and walks in it on a daily basis, then as we come together and lift our praises to Him out of our overflowing hearts, the glory of His presence will fill the house where we are. All of the passion we pour out to Him will be returned to us again with strength, joy, fulfillment, and excitement. There are no words that can truly express this Holy encounter.
Come grow with us and be encouraged to “rethink” what tradition has taught us. Let’s allow the Lord to grow us to the place where we can continually let His praises be in our hearts and on our lips.
