Movie Review: Facing the Giants
Isaac Golding March 28th, 2007
As I’ve not been actively involved within the Christian community for a very long time I can honestly say that I’ve not seen any Christian oriented movies in quite a few years and I’ve never seen any that were produced to a level comparable to that of a “big budget film”. However all of that changed when I was recently shown the movie Facing the Giants. This is a movie about a high school football coach whom suffers from one setback after another in the beginning of his 7th year of coaching the Shiloh Eagles. Things at home have also taken a turn for the worse as he and his wife discover they are unable to conceive a child, the house is falling apart and the car is on its last legs.
At this point the only thing on Coach Taylor’s mind is failure and fear. While at the bottom of his rope Coach is given a a reminder that With God, all things are possible… so daring to trust God to do the impossible, Coach Taylor and the Eagles discover how faith plays out on the field … and off.
What it all boils down to is that this is a must see movie. Facing the Giants is an inspiring movie about the willingness to put it all on the line for God and the faith in things unseen.
It can be found in most Movie Rental stores or online at http://www.facingthegiants.com/home.php
Take the time to seek it out. You won’t be disappointed.
