Mission in Nicaragua June 2007 Newsletter

Pastor Kevin George July 16th, 2007

On May 15th of 2006, I made my first trip to Nicaragua. It was to a place up in the mountains called El Crucero. There, I worked with a ministry named New Hope Children’s Foundation. Through that ministry, I was able to get some real hands-on experience in the missions field. During this time, my heart for the country started to grow. After graduating from Christ for the Nations college, several months later, a ministry named White Dove called me and gave me the opportunity to go back into Nicaragua and work with them. I could hardly believe that I had a chance to go back. It took me by surprise. Gladly, I seized the opportunity and soon found myself living in Managua, Nicaragua. Continue Reading »

Mission in Nicaragua May 2007 Newsletter

Pastor Kevin George June 15th, 2007

Exactly what does it mean to be a good servant ? We read of Jesus washing the disciples’ feet in the book of Matthew, as a true sign of servanthood. That is probably one of the most commonly referred to stories when it comes to speaking of servanthood. Well, this past month we were blessed to have a Pastor from New Orleans, Louisiana come for a visit and the things he did really reflected the love of Christ. On one occasion, we were visiting a house and a little girl selling tortillas

came by seeking to sell one or two. Pastor Alex, the pastor from New Orleans immediately asked how many she had to sell.

April Newsletter

Pastor Kevin George April 30th, 2007

April 11th was a day that me and Pastor Danillo both looked forward to. On that day we climbed aboard a big commercial airliner and was on our way to America.. It had been close to three months since the last time I set foot on American soil. A certain amount of excitement grew within me as we landed in Houston and rushed to our connecting flight, as I sat in the express jet that was about to fly off to New Orleans I thought of the things that we’re accomplished in Nicaragua and how the kids would be while we we’re in America. As the plane took off I looked out the window and couldn’t help but to notice the beautiful Red ,White and Blue waving in the air. I love it in Nicaragua, but it sure was great to be home. Our next stop would be New Orleans, Louisiana ! From April 12th until the 15th White Dove was holding a rejuvenation conference. Continue Reading »

March Newsletter

Pastor Kevin George March 30th, 2007

When I first arrived to Nicaragua, all I could think about was how I could not wait until it was time for me to fly back home to America. However something happened to me that was not expected during my stay, God broke my heart for the people and not in one of those ways where you stand back and just say, well I feel sorry for them, but he broke it to the point where I could not control my tear flow. During the month of March a great many of things where accomplished, the feeding station that was spoke of in last months news letter was finished and we are getting prepared to have our first feeding.
The first feeding will take place on April 10th, I pray that the anointing of God be on that place as we get ready to feed the multitude of people. I have been to several feeding stations and each feeding station is overflowing with the needy people of Nicaragua. I find my heart breaking more and more as my time here in Nicaragua goes on. Another thing that I have been involved in, is just simply blessing some of the poor people that roam the streets, washing windshields at the red lights. One American dollar out here is worth 18 cordoba out here. However when you stop at the red light and they come to your car, mostly they just are trying to get 1 cordoba. It is a real joy to see how they react if you give them 20 or 50 cordoba, but once again, the Lord has struck compassion on my heart for the people who roam the streets. You have to think, how would you want someone to react if you where on the street and had no home or was so poor that you strictly relied on other peoples kindness so you could make ends meet. As the month of March continued, we had much preparing to do. At the close of the month we had a major event that we where planning for. The people expectancy was anywhere from 3000-5000 people, so we definitely had lots to plan for. It was the first time I was involved in an event that was that big.

The crowd went all the way out the door and into the streets. I have to say, it was amazing to see how God was moving in so many different people. The event lasted all night long it ended sometime around 5am, but it was worth it. Now that March has come to an end and April is here a certain joy has risen within me but also a sadness. On April 11th I will fly back to America and will be there for around 1 month. I am happy about going home, yet I am sad about leaving Nicaragua. I have felt so many different things since I have been here and have been introduced to a large number of situations and circumstances that would just break a persons heart. I have seen the kids living on the streets and have seen some of the looks of hopelessness in certain peoples eyes. I know I am where God wants me and to leave even for a month is becoming a seemingly difficult task.

I have learned that God has called us all to different areas. Some of us are call to Pastor a church in a local town some of us are called to travel throughout different cities and help rise up churches and bring forth new programs to encourage the people, and some of us are called to go to different countries, to bring the gospel to the people of a different land. To show that the message doesn’t end just because the pastor said amen. It is for that reason that I have been faced with a difficult question. We all have our part to do. Anyone who says they are a Christian has a responsibility to help further the word of God and to show the love that Christ has shown us. For now, I get ready to fly back to home sweet home, Louisiana. I couldn’t be more excited about seeing friends and family. However a bigger excitement awaits me and that is, returning to Nicaragua and continuing where I left off before I flew out !! God Bless you all !!
