As an Army contractor I’ve become accustomed to listening to the news for 8 hours a day while slowly wearing down the keyboard on my computer. This is due to the fact that in my area of work there is a TV that sits on FoxNews all day long. So I can’t help but notice that Mike Huckabee has entered into a tie with Rudy Giuliani in the national 2008 Republican Presidential race. So this brings to my mind the thought that Mike Huckabee, a Baptist Minister from Arkansas might just take this election all the way home.
So this brings to mind the following question:
How many of the US Presidents have also been Ministers/Pastors/Clergy? Could history be made in 2008 with the election of a Baptist Minister or, has our nation been led in the past by Presidents whom have walked the Roman’s Road?
And of course this isn’t simply a question for you to ponder. This is YOUR Assignment. If you think you know the answer drop me a note by following this link and tell me all about it. Of course if you do your research online then you need to back up your results with some proof. So save those results and send me the links in your message.
Who knows there just “might” be a prize for the first person to get it right…

On September the 8th the pastor’s wife was thrown in the pool. Many of us heard about how Pastor Kennis had shot a crow at 100 yards, while it was in flight. Pastor Vic was accosted with snow cone slush. Representative John R. Smith learned that we are definitely Rednecker than most, and several hundred hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage links and many many many pounds of potato salad were all consumed with zeal and fervor. The event was Christway Church’s 8th year anniversary and celebration and we had a lot to celebrate.

For the past 8 years it has been Christway’s goal to respond to the intense calling to change our community and the world. And for 8 years we have been doing just that. Not only though the teachings of the word of God but by our actions and our ministries. Men at Work, Women of Worth, Christ in Action our missions in Nicaragua, outreach here in our own back yard supporting both those abroad and those right here in need. People whom are in need both in the physical things, food, clothing and shelter and those whom are in need spiritually.

But what sets Christway apart from most churches is not that we are better then they are. We aren’t. Can’t claim it’s the money. We aren’t wealthier than most, in fact it might be safe to say we are never “fat and sassy”. We are different because we reach out to touch the untouchable, love the unlovable, and reach the unreachable. We never give up, we never stop trying and we are always looking for new, better, different ways to teach the word of God and more importantly, live in the word of God.

So what’s in the future for Christway? It is our goal to show the love of Christ to our community and the world in practical ways. We will continue to do the same thing we have been doing. Whatever it takes, whoever will listen, we will continue to preach the word with excitement and enthusiasm. We are a people of purpose!

This was recently sent to me by a friend of mine. I felt it worthy of being republished here. More importantly I find the need to let her know I do appreciate her. She knows who she is and that she is loved.
Love Ya!
One day a woman’s husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn’t anymore. No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more “just one minute.” Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we
can say good-bye, or say “I love you.” Continue Reading »
