Mission in Nicaragua July 2007 Newsletter
Pastor Kevin George August 15th, 2007
I am going to start off by talking about the missionÂ’s team that came from Praise Church. Praise Church is located in Prairieville, Louisiana. The team consisted of 39 spirit filled individuals, each one with hearts made up of gold. I must
say, I have never worked with a team that has made as big of an impact in such a short time as I have with the team of
Praise Church ! To reach out and touch the life of a child is a task that can never be over looked, when the day is done and
you sit down, you can sit knowing that you made a difference. That is an accomplishment worth talking about.
The team from Praise Church, led by Pastor Sonny Wahl arrived in Nicaragua on July 20th to help prepare for the big childrenÂ’s event that was to take place the next day, July 21st. There was lotÂ’s of work to be done, we had plans to
feed every child that made it to the event, there were sitÂ’s that needed to be sat out, and equipment needing to be sat up. On the 21st buses from every direction pack full of kids, started showing up. So many buses that we had to start telling the
drivers, that there was no more room. The buses came to a stop and the doors were opened, shortly after that, kidÂ’s started to fill the sitÂ’s. We had around 7000 kidÂ’s show up for this event, what a remarkable thing indeed.
The next big task at hand was to feed all the children that had shown up. As the event played out, the meals were being
prepared and teams got ready to hand them out. Praise God, we had enough to feed them all !! Alas the event had finished, the buses pulled out and the night had come to an end. The next thing to prepare for, was a small team coming from Dallas, Tx. The team consisted of three people and they will be joining us for the next 3 months to help, serve, and be a blessing to the people. The came just as the team from Praise Church was leaving, however they were able to join them for a few days before having to say good-bye. Immediately after getting to Nicaragua, to work we went.
We all went throughout a small neighborhood ministering and praying for anyone who had a need. Shortly after that, we invited them to come eat. The turn out was amazing as well as the team was a big help in serving the people. It has been such a blessing to work with the team from Praise Church as well as the team from Dallas, Tx. It just goes to show the Lord is always working and as long as you are willing to serve, he will send you. We prepare now for a new feeding center to be built in El Crucero next to the school as well as a three day crusade. I look forward to the challenge of helping direct the feeding center it will be great knowing that in addition to the feeding centers that are already up and feeding , we will have yet another one and just that many more people will have both spiritual and physical food to fill them.
