Mission in Nicaragua May 2007 Newsletter
Pastor Kevin George June 15th, 2007
Exactly what does it mean to be a good servant ? We read of Jesus washing the disciples’ feet in the book of Matthew, as a true sign of servanthood. That is probably one of the most commonly referred to stories when it comes to speaking of servanthood. Well, this past month we were blessed to have a Pastor from New Orleans, Louisiana come for a visit and the things he did really reflected the love of Christ. On one occasion, we were visiting a house and a little girl selling tortillas
came by seeking to sell one or two. Pastor Alex, the pastor from New Orleans immediately asked how many she had to sell.
After they were all counted, he let her know he would buy all of them. He shared the love of Christ with her, not only
by words, but by actions. We could all learn a lesson from being witness to something such as that. Jesus went throughout doing good wherever he went and ministering to everyone he came across, not only by words, but also by his actions.
I think it’s far past time for everyone who claims to follow a Christ-centered life, to lead by the actions they do and not only the words they speak.
Another tremendous blessing we had was a local doctor who volunteered his time and services to helping treat children at a local school nearby. There were over one hundred children who showed up for a free check up, as well as any medicine that they might need. The children, of course, received more than just a check up from the doctor. We all prayed and had a small service, followed by Christian videos, as well as just passing out candy and juice.
Shortly after that, up the mountain I went, to a place called El Crucero. There I was able to connect with some old friends and help to be a part of what they are doing. The ministry is named New Hope Children’s Foundation. New Hope owns and
operates a school that is free of charge to the students that attend. They also have an orphanage in a remote area of Nicaragua, a little town named Waspam. It has been a great joy to hook up with this great ministry.
I am eagerly looking forward to the great things the Lord has in store for me, for the ministry, and for the children. I am helping teach English to third, fourth, and fifth grade students, now that I am out here. Other things are starting to happen as well. White Dove has a big children’s event coming up on the 21st of July, where many churches and ministries will unite in an all out effort to reach the children of Nicaragua and share the Love that Christ has to offer us all. As we get ready for this big event, I can’t help but to wonder, what does God have in store for us all ?

I think this is fantastic what Kevin is doing in Nicaragua. I pray that GOD continues to bless this ministry and I encourage everyone to help support this mission. Kim and I are very proud of what he is doing for the children and all the citizen’s. Kevin is a great witness for CHRIST and I hope he can do what he loves for years to come.
